Cryptocurrency Anxiety, Who Hasn't Experienced It?
Can't sleep, waking up in the middle of the night to check the market on my phone, my mind is filled with positions, stop-loss points, should I increase my position... as soon as I close my eyes, the currency is dropping.
To put it simply, it’s because the position is too large, and I want to turn my fortunes around too badly. My mindset is still stuck on the idea of "getting rich quickly with one big win," and I haven’t switched to the "slow and steady approach."
I used to be the same way; I would open positions of 30%, 40%, making myself feel like I was walking on a tightrope every day. Now, my first trade is basically only 1% or even 0.5%. If the market goes in my favor, I’ll increase my position; if it goes against me, I’ll cut my losses. I don’t average down or hold on stubbornly.
You might think 1% is nothing; for example, if you have $5000 in capital, 1% is only $50, which doesn’t hurt at all. But that’s not how it works—if you don’t take $50 seriously, the market won’t take you seriously either.
So how do I operate now?
I test my direction with a 1% position, using 5-10 times leverage to experiment; if I’m wrong, I pull back,
If I’m right, I increase my position, reassess, and roll over.
At the very least—I can finally sleep at night.
If you ask me, don’t start by thinking about getting rich.
First, practice proper position sizing, stabilize your mindset, and surviving is the key to what comes next.
