The idea of making a film about a person who lost 1000 bitcoins on a hard drive has been discussed multiple times in the media. The most famous story belongs to James Howells — a resident of Wales who accidentally threw away an old hard drive that contained the private key to a wallet with over 1000 BTC. As of 2025, this amount is equivalent to tens of millions of dollars.

James negotiated with Hollywood producers to create a film based on this story. The project was supposed to combine elements of drama, comedy, and thriller, showcasing not only the technical aspects of losing cryptocurrency but also the psychological pressure, societal reaction, and tense attempts to find the drive in a landfill.
