THIS morning a suspicious transfer was made potentially involving a victim for 3520 $BTC (that is, over 330 million dollars) ☠️

The funds began to be laundered through more than 6 exchanges and were exchanged for #XMR, causing the price of XMR to increase by 50% 🤯

Why XMR? some may ask... it's because it is a privacy-focused crypto: once BTC is exchanged for XMR, it becomes quite a bit more complicated to trace it 🎭

⚠️ It was clearly not a hack on Bitcoin, everything points to it being social engineering (that is, a scam, phishing, etc.)

🔒 How to protect yourself from being a victim of these scams?

👉 Never share keys or recovery methods: Not even if someone who seems official or from support asks you. No legitimate person will ever ask you for them.

👉 Be wary of unexpected or urgent contacts: Scammers often create panic or urgency situations so that you act quickly and without thinking.

👉 Use 2FA (two-factor authentication) and secure wallets: Protect your accounts and funds with virtual or even better, physical 2FA and wallets that can guarantee your security (secure wallets).
