Even after a day, the reason for the massive power outage in Spain and Portugal remains unknown.

Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro said the source of the blackout "is likely in Spain."

Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez stated that authorities are investigating the causes:

"All possible causes are being analyzed, I emphasize that no hypothesis, no possibility is excluded," he said.

The outage began shortly after noon on Monday and affected cities across the country, with the Balearic and Canary Islands remaining unaffected.

Portuguese authorities had previously said that the outage could have been caused by a rare atmospheric phenomenon related to temperature fluctuations.

This is the most convenient explanation for the authorities. What blame can be placed on an atmospheric phenomenon? There is no need to look for culprits or wrongdoers either.

Power outages occurred in five European countries.

No one knows why.

But everyone knows that without electricity, only cash works.
