#ArizonaBTCReserve Arizona passes a bill to create a strategic reserve of Bitcoin.Lawmakers voted to adopt Senate Bill 1025 (SB1025) and Senate Bill 1373 (SB1373), reflecting the growing interest in digital assets at the state level. "This bill is similar to proposals being considered in about 15 other states," said Representative Jeff Weninger. He explained that the bill would allow the Arizona State Treasurer to allocate up to 10% of certain funds to Bitcoin and possibly other cryptocurrencies, laying the groundwork for future integration of digital assets as this sector evolves. This progress positions Arizona among the leaders of states seeking to incorporate cryptocurrency into official financial strategies. In New Hampshire, a similar bill has already passed the House of Representatives and is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
Although Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs had previously opposed the passage of new laws without a bipartisan budget agreement, a recent breakthrough in funding negotiations may pave the way for her to sign SB1025 and SB1373 into law.
