#TrumptaxCuts #TrumpTaxCuts WASHINGTON — Congress returns from its break on Monday for a four-week sprint leading up to Memorial Day, during which Republican leaders hope to resolve critical issues regarding their ambitious bill to adopt President Donald Trump's agenda.

The GOP aims to craft legislation that includes trillions of dollars in tax cuts, hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending for immigration enforcement and the military, and a debt ceiling increase of up to 5 trillion dollars.

First, Republicans will need to address a series of intraparty divisions to pass a bill in the House, where they hold the majority. Next, they will have to navigate obscure budgetary rules to pass the bill in the Senate, where Democrats will seek to disqualify certain provisions of the legislation.
