The first "bug" in Bitcoin allowed the creation of 184 billion bitcoins in 2010!

This error occurred in block 74638 and was caused by a programming flaw that did not limit the number of bitcoins created in a transaction. Satoshi Nakamoto and other developers quickly fixed the issue and "nullified" the block with a hard fork — it is one of the few moments when Bitcoin was altered in this way.

Very few people outside the community of programmers and crypto historians know about this episode!
