BlackRock's IBIT fund is nearing the milestone of 600,000 BTC, amid a strong influx of capital into spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States continue to attract impressive investment capital with 3.06 billion USD in the past week, pushing the total capital raised since their launch in January 2024 to 38.43 billion USD. Among them, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) is leading and is close to the historic milestone of 600,000 BTC.

Following BlackRock is Fidelity's FBTC fund with 199,684.83 BTC (18.76 billion USD) and Grayscale's GBTC with 191,190.97 BTC (17.9 billion USD). These three funds are the only ones exceeding the 100,000 BTC mark, with a total Bitcoin holding of up to 979,562.71 BTC, valued at around 92 billion USD – accounting for 4.93% of the total circulating Bitcoin globally.

In addition to these three giants, the market also has three medium-sized funds with holdings of over 35,000 BTC each: ARKB from Ark Invest (52,604 BTC), Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust (42,079.29 BTC), and BITB from Bitwise (39,020.06 BTC). These three funds collectively own 133,703.35 BTC, estimated to be worth around 12.5 billion USD, accounting for 0.67% of the current supply.

The remaining six funds – HODL, BRRR, BTCO, EZBC, BTCW, and DEFI – hold a total of 32,646.16 BTC, with a total value exceeding 3 billion USD at the current exchange rate.

Overall, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States hold 1,145,912.22 BTC, equivalent to 107.70 billion USD as of April 27. This amount of Bitcoin accounts for 5.77% of the total 19.85 million BTC in circulation – a significant figure indicating the increasing impact of institutional investment products on the market.

The impressive growth of Bitcoin ETFs, especially the dominance of IBIT, reflects the increasing acceptance of Bitcoin among institutional investors. With the current growth rate, BlackRock's fund could surpass the 600,000 BTC mark in a short time, further solidifying its leading position in the global Bitcoin ETF market.
