Cardano (ADA) Tokenomics

The ADA token, like Bitcoin (BTC), but unlike Ethereum (ETH), has a fixed supply limit of 45 billion tokens. According to CoinMarketCap, as of August 26, there were 34.1 billion ADA tokens in circulation.

While this does not imply that the price of Cardano will increase, a restricted supply of Cardano could stimulate demand.

As of August 26, 0.3% of the ADA reserve is distributed in each epoch as staking incentives and treasury funding. This will continue for several years until it is exhausted. Each Cardano epoch consists of several intervals, each lasting one second. Currently (August 26), a Cardano epoch consists of 432,000 intervals (five days).

A portion of the two sources of income, currently set at 20%, is allocated to the treasury. The remainder is used to reward staking operators and delegators.
