#TariffsPause
#TariffsPause is a term referring to U.S. President Donald Trump's decision in April 2025 to temporarily suspend for 90 days the increase of tariffs on most of the United States' trading partners, excluding China. This decision came after a sharp decline in financial markets and pressure from bond investors. During the suspension period, the basic tariffs remained at 10%, while tariffs on Chinese imports were raised to 145%. The goal of this suspension is to provide an opportunity to negotiate with other countries, while Trump insisted that China must make 'substantial concessions' before any easing of the tariffs.
