#Holding

Hodl bitcoin —from the English hold and the acronym HODL— is a term used to describe the activity of holding or conserving your bitcoins for the long term, without selling them, regardless of price fluctuations. It is a strategy based on the belief that the value of bitcoin will increase over time, so investors prefer not to spend or exchange their coins, even during market downturns.

In December 2013, amidst the chaos of Bitcoin's price, a user from the legendary Bitcointalk forum, known as GameKyuubi, appeared and published a post titled "I AM HODLING". Yes, instead of writing "holding", which means "to hold", he swapped the "D" and the "L"; a typo that would go down in history and that remains part of Bitcoin lore to this day.
