4. Staking
Description: Locking coins within the blockchain network to assist in verification, in exchange for a yield.
Legal Ruling:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever does an action not in accordance with our command, it will be rejected" (Narrated by Muslim).
The companion Umar ibn al-Khattab said: "Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt."
The follower Saeed ibn al-Musayyib said: "Whatever is ambiguous to you from wealth, leave it."
Contemporary Scholars:
Dr. Muhammad al-Siddiq al-Darir (Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly) said: "Staking is permissible if profit is not guaranteed or if it does not involve usury."
Sheikh Al-Alwan said: "If staking occurs within the network and in a natural way, it is closer to being permissible."
Ruling: Suspicious – Permissible under conditions. For example: staking ADA coin within the Cardano network is permissible, while within a centralized platform with guaranteed returns is suspicious or prohibited.
