#EthereumFuture “Charles Hoskinson just called Ethereum L2s ‘parasitic’ — is he right?”
In a recent AMA, Cardano’s Charles Hoskinson came out swinging:
Criticized Ethereum’s economic model
Slammed its consensus design
Called Layer 2s “parasitic” on the base chain
Harsh? Maybe. But is he wrong?
While Ethereum scales via rollups, Cardano’s aiming for built-in, Layer 1 scalability. Two completely different philosophies.
But here’s the real question:
Is Ethereum still innovating — or patching a broken foundation?
Are L2s the future of scale — or just temporary duct tape?
My take:
Ethereum still leads in dev activity, DeFi TVL, and institutional adoption — but Hoskinson raises valid concerns. If Ethereum fails to simplify UX + reduce gas consistently, Cardano (or even Solana) could eat its lunch.
Long-term bet?
I’m watching ecosystems that balance decentralization, UX, and scalability without 10 layers of complexity.
Your turn: who are YOU betting on in this Layer War?
