Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, stated that he will reduce his work with President Donald Trump to one or two days a week starting next month, after the billionaire's aggressive cost-cutting methods sparked a strong public backlash and concern among investors.
Musk's mandate as a special government employee in the Trump administration, which spans 130 days, is set to expire in late May.
Musk told investors during a conference call following the electric vehicle manufacturer's results that exceeded Wall Street's low expectations, "I think starting next month, likely in May, my time allocation for government efficiency management will decrease significantly."
