I made 12 million during the last bull market.
Talk about my experience of making my first bucket of gold in the cryptocurrency world.
Born in '95, graduated from university in '18, started working in Shenzhen, entered the cryptocurrency world in early 2020.
Currently, I own a house in Shenzhen, have no car, no luxury spending, and most of my assets are in exchanges.
I initially worked in e-commerce in Shenzhen, earning around 20,000 to 30,000 a month, with monthly expenses exceeding 10,000, allowing me to save about 10,000 to 20,000 a month. Like many 'migrant workers' in Shenzhen, I also wanted to buy a house there.
However, with this level of income, I wouldn't know when I'd be able to save for a down payment; my job income has bottlenecks, and it's hard for salaries to increase.
It wasn't until I got involved in the cryptocurrency world that I realized I could use the leverage of virtual currencies to multiply my assets several times!
I was quite lucky; when I entered the cryptocurrency world, it coincided with the early stages of a bull market. I went all-in with most of my savings into digital currencies, buying a large position in ETH, along with a small amount of BTC and some miscellaneous altcoins.
I experienced several major corrections and over-leveraged during the process, then didn't operate much after that. I didn't sell during the massive drop on May 19th and even increased my holdings in some promising altcoins.
Until November 2021, Bitcoin broke its historical high of 69,000 USD. The market sentiment was very high, and many believed it would exceed 100,000 USD, but in fact, 69,000 was the peak of this bull market.
By the end of November, I noticed the market trend weakening and deduced that the bull market was likely over, so I sold off most of my holdings. At that time, Bitcoin was priced around 58,000, and Ethereum was around 4,400.
It has been proven that this was a very wise choice, while some retail investors with 'bullish fantasies' shouting about 'eternal bull markets' and being greedy for 'tail-end rallies' have now been caught off guard.
After the bull market in 2021 ended, my capital account had about 12 million RMB.
I put down 4 million as a down payment to buy a house in Shenzhen (after graduation, I transferred my hukou to Shenzhen, and after paying social security for three years, I became eligible to purchase a house), 2 million was cashed out for daily use, and the remaining 6 million stayed in the exchange.
To summarize my advantages:
1. A relatively large capital base with continuous cash flow support,
2. Appropriate entry timing and buy-sell points,
3. Only trading during high certainty periods, reducing trading frequency,
4. Do not use contract leverage, do not borrow, and maintain a good mindset.
In the cryptocurrency market, profits are made on the cycle; factors like timing of entry, exit points, project selection, position allocation, and capital will all affect your profits.
If you want to seize this bull market, it’s definitely too late to learn as you go; it's best to have someone guide you for a quick start.
