$BTC refers to the recent acquisitions of Bitcoin by Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy. In March 2024, the company purchased 9,245 BTC for 623 million dollars, using funds from a convertible debt issuance and excess cash. Subsequently, between August and September of the same year, it acquired an additional 18,300 BTC for 1.1 billion dollars, raising its holdings to over 244,000 BTC, approximately 1% of the total Bitcoin supply.
