Bitcoin against the US Dollar

Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy, hinted at the possibility of a Bitcoin currency emerging soon. BTC against the US Dollar purchased by Strategy and stated that more than 13,000 institutions now have direct exposure to the company.

The company's latest acquisition of 3,459 BTC, valued at over $285 million at the time of purchase on April 14, raised Strategy's total holdings to 531,644 BTC, worth more than $44.9 billion.

Saylor follows the Bitcoin price chart, which he usually publishes on Sundays to indicate an imminent acquisition of Bitcoin, detailing investors' exposure to the company. The executive wrote in a post dated April 20:

Based on public data for the first quarter of 2025, over 13,000 institutions and 814,000 retail accounts hold shares in MSTR directly. It is estimated that 55 million beneficiaries have indirect exposure through ETFs, mutual funds, pensions, and insurance portfolios.

The growing popularity of Strategy among individual and institutional investors is notable as the company attracts capital from traditional financial markets to Bitcoin. Increasing capital flows lead to the company's accumulation and retention of more Bitcoin, resulting in a gradual increase in the price of this limited-supply digital asset.

Michael Saylor's pipeline from the stock market to Bitcoin

The strategy issues corporate bonds and stocks to finance Bitcoin acquisition operations, providing its holders with indirect exposure to BTC and feeding capital from traditional financial markets into the Bitcoin market.

In December 2024, Strategy was added to the Nasdaq 100 Index, a market capitalization-weighted index that tracks the largest 100 companies by market value listed on the Nasdaq.

The inclusion of Strategy in the Nasdaq 100 Index will attract more capital into BTC from passive investors holding the technology-focused index in their portfolios.
