WazirX Set to Restart After $234M Hack — Final Court Hearing on May 13
Indian crypto exchange WazirX is making a comeback! After the $234M hack in July 2024 linked to North Korean attackers, the exchange is awaiting a crucial May 13 sanction hearing in Singapore. If approved, WazirX will restart operations and begin compensating users within 10 business days.
Over 90% of creditors have already voted in favor of a recovery plan involving special tokens, aiming to return 75–80% of user balances.
However, the Supreme Court of India recently dismissed a petition from 54 victims, citing it as a matter of crypto policy—not one for the judiciary.
All eyes now on the Singapore High Court. Will WazirX rise again?
