Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has launched another "big move": proposing to replace the long-standing EVM with the open-source architecture RISC-V, causing a strong shock within the community! Why replace EVM?
Although EVM has supported the explosion of smart contracts since 2015, it is now struggling with complex applications and ZK technology. Buterin bluntly stated: EVM has fallen behind the times.
As a flexible and efficient open-source instruction architecture, RISC-V has already established a foothold in both hardware and software fields. If introduced to Ethereum, it is expected to bring up to 100 times performance improvement, significantly reducing the burden on ZK-type applications.
Vitalik proposed three routes:
1. Parallel support for EVM and RISC-V contracts.
2. Running existing EVM code with a RISC-V interpreter.
3. Incorporating the RISC-V interpreter into the Ethereum protocol itself.
Ultimate goal: To create a more streamlined, modular, and scalable Ethereum.

Despite ETH briefly dropping to $1474 at the beginning of the year, it has clearly warmed up since April, rising 3% in the last 24 hours. Last year's favorable policy caused it to surge by 66%, and if this architectural innovation is implemented, it could become a catalyst for a new round of market trends.
