Amid worrying economic indicators sweeping the United States, renowned financial expert and author Robert Kiyosaki issued a new warning, describing it as "sad," predicting that the world is facing an unprecedented financial crisis that could exceed in severity the Great Depression that struck the global economy in the 1930s.
Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and several other influential economic books, said in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) that 2025 will see the highest levels of credit card debt in American history, amid rising unemployment, declining retirement plans, and pension theft, warning that the country could be on the cusp of a Greater Depression.

A prophecy coming true?
Kiyosaki noted that this scenario is not surprising to him, as he had previously predicted it in his book "The Rich Dad Prophecy," stressing that he had repeatedly warned of a major economic collapse in his other books, such as "Who Stole My Pension?" and "The Fake."
He added, "Those who heeded my warnings are doing well today. As for those who ignored them, I worry about them."
Message to the future: Act now or lose everything
Despite the pessimistic tone, Kiyosaki offered what he considered a "golden opportunity" for survival, and perhaps even wealth. In his post, he emphasized that investing in gold, silver, and Bitcoin is the safest haven amidst the accelerating volatility.
Kiyosaki believes that Bitcoin will reach over $1 million per coin by 2035, while gold will reach $30,000 and silver $3,000 per coin. "It will be the easiest money you will ever make in your life," he says.
The poor speak the language of poverty.
In a statement that reflects his personal philosophy on money and success, Kiyosaki argued that poor people often speak in a way that reinforces their difficult financial situation, using phrases such as: “I can’t afford it,” “I’ll wait,” or “I’ll try.”
"As I've learned, the words you use can determine your financial destiny," he added.
A call to learn, plan, and act
Kiyosaki concluded his letter with an explicit call to take practical steps and not wait.
He wrote: "The great crash I warned about... and which is happening now... could be the opportunity of a lifetime to achieve great wealth, and more importantly... financial freedom. Don't waste this opportunity. Learn, plan, and take action."
