📈 Ben Zhou, CEO of the Bybit cryptocurrency exchange, confirmed that the hack on February 21, carried out by the Lazarus hacker group (North Korea), was the largest single theft in the history of the cryptocurrency market.

🔹 A total of 500,000 ETH worth about $1.4 billion was withdrawn from the exchange. Of this:

🔴 27.59% of the funds are considered lost
🔴 68.57% are still being tracked on the blockchain
🔴 3.84% were managed to be frozen thanks to third-party platforms

⚙️ Money laundering scheme:

1️⃣ Transfer to mixers (including Wasabi, Tornado Cash, CryptoMixer, Railgun)
2️⃣ Then cross-chain and send to OTC and P2P platforms

➡️ After the incident, the exchange stated that it would cover the losses. However, later the team announced optimization: they will close a number of Web3 services and the NFT marketplace.

📌 The Lazarus Group continues to be one of the most active and dangerous hacker groups specializing in attacks on cryptocurrency exchanges and DeFi infrastructure.
