9 Altcoins and 4 Meme Coins Submit Applications for Spot ETFs
According to BlockBeats, on-chain analysts have reported that there are currently 9 types of altcoins and 4 types of meme coins that have submitted applications for spot ETFs. The altcoins include SOL, XRP, LTC, ADA, AVAX, APT, SUI, MOVE, and TRX, while the meme coins include DOGE, TRUMP, BONK, and PENGU. SOL and XRP are the most popular applications, with 6 and 10 institutions applying respectively.
The most recent application was submitted by Canary Capital on April 19 for a TRX spot ETF. The BTC spot ETF was first applied for in June 2023 and was approved in January 2024. The ETH spot ETF was applied for in September 2023 and was approved in May 2024.
