A recent report by Bitwise reveals that total Bitcoin (BTC) holdings by public companies surged by 16% in Q1 2025, reaching 688,000 BTC—equivalent to approximately 3.2% of the global circulating supply. This notable increase signals growing institutional interest in Bitcoin, especially following a sharp price decline in previous months. The involvement of major investors has helped restore retail investor confidence and contributed to a more optimistic market sentiment.

The total value of Bitcoin held by these companies now exceeds US$57 billion, marking a 2% increase over the past three months. The number of publicly listed firms holding Bitcoin also rose to 79, with 12 new companies beginning to accumulate the world's largest cryptocurrency. Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, remains the largest holder with 528,185 BTC, followed by Marathon Digital (47,531 BTC), Riot Platforms (19,223 BTC), CleanSpark (11,869 BTC), and Tesla (11,509 BTC).
