Colin Powell, a retired four-star general, served as Secretary of State under George W. Bush and was a respected military leader. A moderate Republican, Powell emphasized diplomacy and integrity but faced criticism over the Iraq War’s faulty intelligence. Unlike Trump, Powell later distanced himself from the GOP, endorsing Democrats and condemning Trump’s leadership.
