Srinagar: The Lieutenant Governor said during a passing out parade that drug trafficking is no longer limited to traditional methods. Traffickers and narco-terrorists are using modern technology and communication mediums. The dark web has now become a new market for the drug trade, and the use of cryptocurrency is rapidly increasing.

He mentioned that he expressed this concern during a program held at the Police Training School (PTS) in Manigam, Ganderbal district. Instead of traditional transactions, drugs are now being bought and sold through digital and anonymous mediums, which is a new challenge for security agencies.

The solution to the challenge can be found through technology and training

The Lieutenant Governor stated that with rapidly changing technology, security forces also need to continually upgrade their skills. The use of innovation and state-of-the-art tools has become essential to combat organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorist activities.

He expressed confidence that the Jammu and Kashmir police are fully capable and dedicated to combating these threats. The central and state governments stand firmly with the security forces.

All agencies must come together to tackle terrorism

He also emphasized that there are attempts to reactivate terrorism in the Jammu region, but in recent years, security forces have successfully controlled terrorist activities in the valley. Similar strategies, technology, and intelligence coordination can thwart terrorist plots in Jammu as well.

He said, 'All agencies must work together as a strong team, only then can we thwart the enemy's nefarious plots.'

Future Police: Technologically equipped and strategic

The Lieutenant Governor stated that in the coming times, the police must be prepared not only to fight terrorism but also to maintain development and law and order. The role of the Jammu and Kashmir police is far more extensive than that of other states.

'The combination of technology, strategy, and precise intelligence will deliver the final blow to the roots of terrorism,' he said.
