In recent months, there has been a reported increase in fraud attempts using the Binance name to deceive unsuspecting users. See the articles “Learn about scams” for more information.

How Do Scammers Operate?

The most common methods include:

  • Fake social media profiles: They pose as official Binance representatives or crypto influencers.

  • BEWARE OF WHATSAPP GROUPS!!: They create groups inviting people to download decentralized wallets to trick them into staking liquidity for mining.

  • Promises of guaranteed high returns: “Double your investment in 24 hours” or “Invest it in Binance… (They name fake campaigns)… and earn risk-free.”

  • Direct messages offering help: They ask you to share your account information or redirect you to suspicious links.

  • Cloned websites: Pages that mimic the Binance interface and/or other platforms to steal credentials.

How to Avoid Them?

Here are some golden rules for you:

✅ Always verify official accounts. On social media, Binance has verified accounts. Don't trust profiles with similar names but no verification.

✅ Never share your passwords or personal information. Neither Binance nor any legitimate exchange will ask you for this information via private message.

✅ Be wary of promises of quick profits. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. 🤭 ...What do you think?...

✅ Check the links. Make sure you're browsing Binance or its official domains.

And most importantly, always keep this in mind:

  • Never share your password with anyone

  • Never return phone calls from anyone claiming to be a Binance employee or a member of the Binance Support team.

  • Do not send money to anyone claiming to be a Binance employee.

  • Enable at least one Two-factor authentication (2FA)..

This is what a scam looks like...

What to do if you suspect fraud?

  1. Do not interact with the scammer (They usually have persuasive techniques and tactics to try to trick you)

  2. Report the fake profile or site to Binance and/or the relevant social network.

  3. Let the community know. Sharing your experience can help others avoid falling into the trap.
