$SOL
The Sun, also known as Sol, is the star at the center of our solar system. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, composed mainly of hydrogen and helium. The Sun provides the light and heat necessary for life on Earth. It is about 4.6 billion years old and will continue to shine for several billion more. The Sun's immense gravity keeps the planets in orbit around it. It has several layers, including the core, where nuclear fusion occurs, and the outer corona, which extends far into space. Solar energy drives weather, climate, and photosynthesis. Despite its importance, only a fraction of the Sun's energy reaches Earth, but that small amount is vital to all life on our planet.
