How can I cultivate patience in trading?
I don’t know what you want, but I’ll ask weakly: Are you participating in trading to make money? If so, does your logic imply that patience = making money? Who would believe that this logic holds?
I think patience ≠ making money. Cultivating patience in a one-sided manner can lead to a situation where you have patience but lose money, which is it worth it? For example, after opening a position and gaining some floating profit, the market starts to consolidate. Do you know how long it will consolidate? Do you rely on patience to hold the position until a direction is established?
How should patience be used in trading?
Be on standby. What is trading about? Isn’t it just speculation? When opportunities have not appeared and the timing is not right, a little patience is indeed needed, but this patience should not be spent staring at the market. You should shift your focus outside of the market, then you won’t care about being patient or not.
If you really put your patience on the market, what you might wait for is not an opportunity. Because if you watch the market with patience for opportunities and timing to mature, your mind will be disrupted by the market fluctuations, and you won’t be able to help but act. Very few people have the strong willpower to control their mind and hands.
The real significance of patience lies in not watching the market; do not look at the market for three days, five days, ten days, or half a month, but the premise is that the capital size must match.
Patience is like being as still as a maiden, but moving like a hare is even more important.
