Before the sharp drop of the OM coin, at least 17 wallets sent 43.6 million OM to exchanges (worth $227 million at the time), which accounted for about 4.5% of the total supply. According to Arkham, two of these wallets are linked to Laser Digital, a strategic investor in the Mantra project.
Additionally, it emerged that the Mantra team previously included owners of online casinos. In 2021, it was also claimed that the project misled the community by announcing support from FTX, which was not the case.
Binance stated that it has taken risk control measures with regards to OM and will continue to monitor the situation.
CZ commented on the criticism for listing OM, noting that centralized and decentralized exchanges should not filter assets but provide access to all.
