The John Simpson Sr. Memorial Stakes

A stakes event held at Pocono Downs on the 21st & and 25th of October and in memory of legendary driver and trainer John Simpson Sr., who won nearly $5 million in purse and won many Triple Crown races.
The series features races for two and three year-old trotters and pacers, for geldings, colts and fillies, with purses varying by division.
In the 2024 series, a standout performance from Sir Pinocchio trotting a 1:51.4 was the highlight for the meeting which trainer Ake Svanstedt dominated, winning multiple divisions, including three of four for three-year-old trotters.
Both Lochlan Hanover & Soap Opera have been nominated for this series.
