Earthquake Update – April 12, 2025 On April 12, 2025, strong tremors were felt across various cities in Pakistan. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter located near Dera Ghazi Khan in Southern Punjab and a depth of 10 kilometers.
The tremors were experienced in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Chiniot, Jhang, Gujranwala, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Chichawatni, Mianwali, Talagang, Chakwal, Jahanian, Zafarwal, Bhera, Khushab, Mian Channu, and several other areas.
Due to the sudden shock, panic spread among the citizens, many of whom recited religious prayers and rushed out of homes and offices. So far, no casualties or property damage have been reported.
