Rootstock (RSK)?
Rootstock (RSK) is a smart contract blockchain platform built on the Bitcoin network. The goal of RSK is to enable smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) on the Bitcoin network, just like Ethereum, but leveraging the security of the Bitcoin network.
It relies on a technology called merge-mining, which means that miners on the Bitcoin network can mine RSK at the same time.
A token called RBTC is used, which is directly tied to BTC at a ratio of 1:1 (meaning that 1 RBTC equals 1 BTC).
The purpose of RBTC is to run smart contracts and pay fees within the RSK network.
What is the relationship between Rootstock and the Binance platform?
RBTC may not be directly listed on Binance, but it can be traded on other platforms (such as KuCoin, Bitfinex, or using bridges like RSK PowPeg).
Bridges may be used to transfer BTC to the RSK network and vice versa.
The RSK project itself is supported by an organization called IOV Labs, which is active in developing DeFi applications built on Bitcoin.
The difference between RSK and EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine)
RSK is compatible with EVM, meaning that developers can run the same Ethereum applications on the RSK network, but with the security advantages of the Bitcoin network.
