In a groundbreaking move for Pakistan’s digital finance sector, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance, has been named Strategic Advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council. This signals a major commitment from the country to embrace blockchain, Web3, and the broader digital economy.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting led by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, with key figures in attendance including the SECP Chairman, State Bank Governor, and top officials from the IT and Law Ministries.

“This marks a historic turning point,” stated Minister Aurangzeb. “With CZ’s expertise, Pakistan is poised to lead the region in blockchain innovation and digital finance.”

CZ also held separate discussions with the Prime Minister and Deputy PM, reflecting the government’s strong backing for creating a robust crypto-friendly ecosystem.

Bilal Bin Saqib, Chief Adviser to the Finance Minister for the Crypto Council, remarked: “We’re unlocking the future of finance in Pakistan — and CZ is the ideal guide for this transformation.”

In his advisory role, CZ will support policy development, infrastructure building, and the promotion of crypto adoption and education. Highlighting Pakistan’s youth-driven potential, he said, “With over 60% of the population under 30, the opportunity here is massive.”
