#StaySAFU : My Bitter Lesson with Crypto Scams and How I Avoid Being the Next Victim!

Unfortunately, at the beginning of my journey in the crypto world, I fell for a classic "pump and dump" scam orchestrated in a Telegram group. The promise of quick and exponential profits in an unknown token blinded me to the warning signs: unverified information, constant pressure to buy, and the sudden appreciation followed by a devastating collapse.

The lesson was painful, with a significant loss of my initial capital. But this experience taught me valuable lessons that are now pillars of my security in the crypto space:

What I Learned:

* There Is No Easy Money: Promises of quick and guaranteed profits are the main warning sign of a scam.

* DYOR (Do Your Own Research) is Law: Never invest in something you do not fully understand. Check the whitepaper, the team, the technology, and the project's community from reliable sources.

* Skepticism is Your Best Friend: Be wary of unverified information, especially that shared in closed groups or by unknown influencers.

* Security First: Protect your private keys as your greatest treasure. Use two-factor authentication (2FA) on all your accounts and wallets.

How I Avoid Scams Today:

* Reliable Sources: I seek information only from reputable platforms and news sources.

* Critical Analysis: I question everything and do not let myself be swayed by FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).

* Vigilant Community: I participate in serious and well-moderated communities, where scams are frequently exposed.

* Secure Wallets: I use hardware wallets to store most of my assets.

* Slow and Conscious Transactions: I do not rush to make transactions and always check the addresses carefully.
