$ETH

Let's talk about Ethereum and its currency ETH; this is a completely different story from Bitcoin. Look, Ethereum is not just a digital currency like people think; it's like a big open computer for everyone, and anyone can build different applications and programs on it.

The ETH is like the "gas" that powers this computer. When someone uses any application built on Ethereum, whether they are buying something, playing a game, or making any transaction, they have to pay a little ETH as a fee for that process to occur. We call these fees "Gas."

The cool feature of Ethereum is that it allowed the emergence of something called "Smart Contracts." These are computer codes stored on the Ethereum network that execute themselves automatically when certain conditions are met. Imagine it like an honest digital lawyer between two parties, executing the agreement between them without anyone's intervention.

Due to these smart contracts, many applications have emerged on Ethereum, like decentralized finance (DeFi) applications that let you take loans and exchange currencies without banks, and also the NFTs that have driven people crazy, which are digital ownership certificates for anything like a picture, a song, or even a piece of land in a virtual world.
