Binance Founder Zhao Appointed Adviser to Pakistan Crypto Council — A Game-Changer for the Nation’s Digital Future

In a move being hailed as a turning point for Pakistan’s digital economy, Binance founder and crypto billionaire Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has been appointed as a strategic adviser to the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), the Finance Division confirmed on Monday.
The announcement followed a high-level meeting between Zhao and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, alongside key government officials and stakeholders. Separate meetings were also held with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
> “This is a landmark moment for Pakistan,” said Finance Minister Aurangzeb. “We are sending a clear message to the world: Pakistan is open for innovation. With Zhao onboard, we are accelerating our vision to make Pakistan a regional powerhouse for Web3, digital finance, and blockchain-driven growth.”
As the founder of Binance — the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange — Zhao brings unmatched experience in regulation, infrastructure, and digital asset innovation. He is expected to offer strategic guidance on policy frameworks, blockchain education, and the broader adoption of crypto assets in Pakistan.
> “Pakistan is a country of 240 million people, over 60% of whom are under 30,” Zhao noted. “The potential here is limitless.”
The Pakistan Crypto Council, officially launched last month, aims to integrate blockchain and digital assets into the national financial system. In March, entrepreneur Bilal Bin Saqib was appointed chief adviser to the finance minister on crypto-related affairs.
Commenting on Zhao’s appointment, PCC CEO Bilal Bin Saqib said:
> “Pakistan is opening its doors to the future of finance. And who better to guide us than CZ — a pioneer who redefined global finance through Binance.”

According to the Finance Division, Zhao will work closely with both public and private sectors to help Pakistan build a compliant, inclusive, and globally competitive crypto ecosystem.
As digital finance gains momentum, this collaboration between local leadership and global expertise signals a new era of opportunity — for entrepreneurs, investors, and the next generation of innovators in Pakistan.
