Spanish police have caught six people who were running a big fake investment plan using artificial intelligence (AI). These scammers used fake ads with famous faces to make people trust them. They told people they could earn a lot of money by investing in cryptocurrency. But once people gave them money, the scammers ran away with it. Later, they contacted the same people again, acting like helpers who could return the money—but only if the victims paid more money.
The police said these scammers were very clever. They even acted like Europol officers or lawyers and told victims their money was stuck and they had to pay tax to get it back. The scammers made fake companies and used many fake names. The police also found a lot of documents and fake stuff in the house of the scam leader. Experts warn that AI scams are growing fast and becoming harder to catch.
