Serious escalation between the United States and China ...

The Chinese government announced today, Friday, the imposition of a 34% tariff on all imports coming from the United States, effective April 10, in direct response to the tariff measures announced by the American president yesterday.

The Chinese Ministry of Finance stated, "For all goods imported from the United States, an additional tariff of 34% will be imposed on top of the current customs rates.

In an additional escalation, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce imposed restrictions on the export of 7 rare elements, including gadolinium and yttrium, used in advanced electronic industries. Additionally, 11 American companies were blacklisted, effectively preventing them from conducting any business activities inside China or with Chinese companies.

China did not stop there, but announced its intention to file an official complaint against the United States with the World Trade Organization.

For his part, Trump sparked a wave of controversy after imposing a 10% tariff on imports from various countries around the world, along with an additional 34% tariff specifically on Chinese products, raising widespread concerns about the possibility of a full-blown trade war.

Trump commented on China's response by saying, "China has played it wrong... They are terrified!
