California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that he will ask trade partners to exempt products made in California from retaliatory tariffs. The Democratic governor said he instructed his team to explore new trade opportunities and remind trade partners that California is a stable partner.
"We are not afraid to use our market power to fight against the largest tax increase of our lives," wrote Newsom on X in response to the latest tariffs from the Trump administration.
