#web3gaming #2024回顧 #2025展望
The veteran believes that absolutely, the number of web 3 games, whether newly released, in development, in pre-alpha/alpha/beta testing, or officially launched, will continuously increase in 2024. Moreover, whether in promotion, operation, or economic models, there are different development directions and models. For example, the Web 2 game + Blockchain technology market, traditional direct gold mining gamefi, seasonal airdrop gold mining model, play to airdrop, play to own & free to trade, full-chain games, and the much-discussed Serverfi, etc., can be said to be a hundred flowers blooming.
Since entering the crypto circle in 2022, the veteran has mentioned, understood, and tried nearly 100 web 3 games... So, as we reach the end of 2024, how many have already launched, how many are still surviving, how many are still in development, and how many have disappeared?
👇 A simple summary using the following image. (Some small TON games and some old names like Axie Infinity, StepN, or some only demos/forgotten by veterans are not included, otherwise, it wouldn't fit) 👇

Note: The above is not investment advice, just personal preferences and choices of veterans playing games, not necessarily profitable, and may even lead to losses, purely spending money to play or losing it all.
Because a post cannot @ too many X accounts, I will later post in different categories to provide more details.
Looking back at 2024, I tried a lot of games, completed a lot of game quests, and bought a lot of NFTs... Unfortunately, overall, it was a loss... Perhaps it's just that veterans entered the market at a bad time and have poor judgment... Therefore, I still have not realized the arduous path of gaming to support myself. Additionally, I want to make videos and become a KOL, but I really lack the talent and ability... All in Web3 gaming, the road is truly difficult. So, my idol 🫡 YP -- Yellow Panther is truly amazing~!🫶
The development time for Web 3 games is too long, and there will not be a one-night wealth effect like meme coins.
Often, you have to do daily tasks that make no sense, but the chances of airdropping something of no value are high. Or you first have to spend money to buy NFTs, and then spend a lot of hours daily grinding in the game, praying that the project team does not rug pull or make hidden changes, otherwise, recovery of costs is hopeless... Even earning is a luxury to hope for.
But veterans still hold great faith in Web 3 games, because "the ownership of digital assets" returning to players will be the inevitable path for the gaming industry. The guild economy, community economy, UGC, and co-creation and co-profit circular economic model will evolve and be implemented step by step.
Therefore, in 2024, under the continuous efforts of various project teams in construction and development, the foundations of Web 3 games, both theoretically and technically, have been gradually established and formed the norms/formats of the industry. The Web 3 game summer will continue in 2025, and more innovations and different economic models will be proposed, discussed, and there will be fierce competition among the weak and strong.
🔥 I believe that next year will definitely be even more lively and exciting~!
🔍 So, what games does the veteran expect to emerge in 2025 or hope will have better development? 🔍
1⃣ Japanese and Korean Web 2 game + Blockchain market games will gradually increase and further occupy market share, as these games are easier to transition Web 2 gamers into the Web 3 game world. However, to some extent, they still belong to the attributes dominated by spending money and pay-to-win. The chances of making a profit are relatively low.
2⃣ MMORPG types will still have certain advantages because they are easier to fit into internal circular economic models, but it is essential to balance the Ponzi attributes and whether direct gold mining can reduce the phenomenon of mining and selling. Also, effort must be put into balancing drop rates of items and the mechanisms of the free market.
3⃣ UGC-type games will definitely have a place, and they need to evolve into a co-creation, co-operation, and co-profit economic ecosystem.
4⃣ Projects in seasonal and PVP ecosystems (such as FPS, PVP, Battle Royale, MOBA types) need to make creative adjustments and changes in the coming year; otherwise, without freshness or after recovering costs from top courses, it will be very difficult to attract new players, thus making it hard to attract new capital, affecting the economic cycle. Therefore, ways need to be found to survive.
🙏 Of course, the above is purely the veteran's humble opinion, hoping that many project teams can bring more surprises to the industry and the vast gaming fans in the coming year 🙏
