No wonder I have lived in poverty for half my life; it turns out I was too kind. But I can't do evil; it's just this kindness. When I encounter someone in need, I want to help; what can I do?!
10 sentences that lead to great enlightenment:
1. Perform one good deed each day, and the path to wealth will be cut off. Good people often find it hard to get rich. Advising others to avoid gambling, teaching others to earn money, helping others to avoid pitfalls—this is not doing good; it’s jumping into the fire pit yourself. You cannot change others' fates; those who are meant to awaken will do so on their own; those who do not will not be swayed. No matter how advanced your cultivation is, do not force others to awaken; not even your own parents can do this. Remember, it’s better to be a silent tiger than a chatterbox. Rain cannot penetrate a knot; true fire cannot ignite wet wood. An old saying goes: 'Medicine cannot cure a disease of fate, and the Dao can only guide those with affinity.' A forcibly twisted melon is bitter even at the stem.
2. Guard your demeanor: do not smile at everyone indiscriminately; conceal your weaknesses; do not speak carelessly; concentrate: when you make eye contact with others, your gaze should be firm; walk with purpose and hold your head high; conceal your sharpness: speak less, whether about your own matters or others'; both good and bad should be spoken of sparingly; eliminate negativity: decisively clear away relationships that drain you, such as toxic relationships and those who constantly spread negative energy, to protect your spiritual energy; avoid the mundane: dress simply and plainly, rejecting complexity and extravagance, revealing elegance in simplicity.
3. Parents should not diminish their children's blessings! Some parents are frugal for themselves but give their children the best food, clothing, and possessions, preventing them from experiencing hardship, even doing household chores for them; in fact, this diminishes their children's blessings. Everyone's blessings are finite; parents need to understand that children should experience some hardship, and their needs should be met with moderation. Even if the family is affluent, children should develop good habits of thrift and frugality. Do not give unconditionally, turning children into those who expect everything to be handed to them. Let children go out into society to gain experience, face hardships, and become independent, understanding the challenges of life and the difficulties of earning money. Only then can they maintain the family legacy, benefit themselves, and bless future generations.
4. It is destined that some will be bosses; even if they cannot read, they can still be bosses. Those destined for wealth will be able to earn money easily even if they leave school early. Conversely, those who are destined for hardship, no matter how knowledgeable or educated, will ultimately toil and face financial difficulties. In life, life and death are fated, and wealth and nobility are determined by heaven. How much one can earn in a lifetime, what experiences one will have, and who one will meet are all arranged by fate; everything is destined, and nothing is within our control.
5. Heaven will help you, but first, it will temper you. If heaven wants to give you a great gift but you cannot accept it at the moment, it will push you into the abyss to undergo training. This means that during this painful training, you enhance your character and resilience, allowing you to better accept the gift when it arrives. So, if you are experiencing failure in love, setbacks in your career, obstacles at work, or difficulties with difficult people, congratulations, you are about to turn things around. Remember, whatever heaven arranges for you will eventually pass. If you cannot bear it, heaven will not arrange it for you. The things that happen to you are all part of your journey; once you pass this mountain, there will surely be a better tomorrow.
6. Buy fewer clothes if possible, eat less if possible. Our ancestors left us a saying: reduce clothing and increase blessings, reduce food and increase longevity. Nowadays, people are doing the opposite, increasing their clothing and food, with desires growing continuously and the burden on their bodies increasing. We must learn to simplify our lives, reducing unnecessary burdens and expenses. The Dao De Jing states, 'Knowing contentment is not dishonored, knowing when to stop is not endangered; this leads to longevity.' Understanding moderation ensures that blessings and fortunes can last long and uninterrupted. The highest realm of cultivation is to live a low-maintenance life while nurturing a rich soul. Wise people reduce their clothing, cut back on food, diminish their desires, and understand how to enrich their inner selves, allowing them to live more transparently.
7. From a Taoist perspective, the more relaxed your state is and the less you care about the outcome, the better the results will unexpectedly be; this is the principle of achieving great things without intention. If you remain in a state of tension and urgency, consider letting go and not being too goal-oriented; it is your unintentional actions that will help you break through this situation. When you don't want something, you will have everything. With intention, flowers may not bloom; without intention, willows may shade the path.
8. The most powerful people are those who cultivate both Buddhism and Taoism. Such individuals possess the compassionate heart of a Bodhisattva and the fierce means of a warrior, with Buddha in their hearts and a sword in their hands; they embody both inner sanctity and outer authority. They can charge into battle or recite scriptures, possess the education to avoid harming others, while also having an aura that protects them from being harmed. They can ascend to the heavens or descend to the depths of rivers.
9. What is true kindness? It is not about releasing animals, donating money, or doing charity work, but about being able to respect others at all times. A mountain may collapse before you, but you do not show distress; you do not harm others, nor do you harm yourself; you do not create trouble, nor do you trouble others. Maintain emotional stability and a pleasant demeanor. To some extent, this is a form of restraint, and more importantly, it is the highest form of kindness.
10. Remember: language is powerful and has metaphysical significance. Do not discuss selling your house or car in your own home or vehicle, nor should you claim to have never been ill or have never had an accident when you are in good health. Let alone saying things like being driven mad, exhausted, or sickened; these negative words are omens. What you say will shape your fate; this is also known as the law of attraction. We should speak positively: I am healthy, I am successful, I am wealthy. Believe in yourself; believe that everything will get better. If you believe you are becoming more successful, you will; if you believe you are becoming healthier, you will.
