The Pi Network Announces the Conclusion of Mobile Mining

The Pi Network officially announced the cessation of its mobile mining functionality, marking a significant transition in its development. The "Grace Period," which allowed Pioneers additional time to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and migrate their balances to the Mainnet, ended on March 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM UTC. This deadline, coinciding with the network's sixth anniversary, was the last opportunity for users to verify and transfer their mined Pi to the Mainnet.

The Grace Period was initially established to ensure inclusion and maximum participation within the Pi Network ecosystem. It provided Pioneers with a six-month window to complete the necessary verifications and migrations. Despite multiple extensions aimed at accommodating as many users as possible, the Core Team emphasized that the March 14 deadline was final. Failing to complete the required steps by this date resulted in the loss of most unverified mobile balances, with only the Pi mined in the six months preceding the migration being retained.

The termination of mobile mining aligns with the broader strategy of the Pi Network to fully transition to the Mainnet and increase the utility of the Pi cryptocurrency. With the Open Network phase starting on February 20, 2025, the Pi Network shifted its focus to expanding its ecosystem, integrating with external platforms, and fostering real-world applications for Pi.

Pioneers who completed the KYC process and migrated to the Mainnet can now conduct transactions, trade Pi, and participate in the growing ecosystem of the Pi Network. The Core Team continues to encourage active participation and collaboration to drive the success of the network in this new phase.
