Changpeng Zhao ( @CZ ), the co-founder of Binance, has announced that he will donate 500 $BNB (Binance Coin) each to Myanmar and Thailand to support disaster relief efforts following a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck on March 28, 2025.
The earthquake, with its epicenter near Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, caused significant damage, including destroyed buildings and widespread flooding, with rescue efforts ongoing. CZ expressed his hope for the safety of those affected, particularly in Thailand, and stated that he intends to distribute the funds transparently.
He has asked if there is an on-chain donation system with Decentralized Identity (DID) available for this purpose. If no such system exists, he plans to rely on Binance and Binance Thailand to manage the distribution of the donations.
