#DonaldTrump On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the first specifics of what a U.S. strategic crypto reserve may look like by naming XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) as three assets to be included in the reserve.

Notably, he made no mention of Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin (BTC), the two biggest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Trump announced the news on his social media account, Truth Social.

The post stated, "My Executive Order on Digital Assets directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA because a U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration." "I will see to it that the United States becomes the global center for cryptocurrency. "We are restoring America's greatness."

Although it did not specifically call on the U.S. to establish a strategic crypto reserve outright, the president's executive order from January instructed a working committee to assess one. But Trump has been talking about the concept since running for president in 2024.

A bill to establish a strategic bitcoin reserve for the United States was previously sponsored by Senator Cynthia Lummis. At the Bitcoin Nashville conference last year, where Trump also spoke, she first pushed for one. Although these attempts have largely failed, some U.S. state legislatures have already sponsored laws to establish their own cryptocurrency reserves.
