US and Russia to Discuss Ukraine Ceasefire in Saudi Arabia!
A US delegation is set to meet with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia today to discuss a potential ceasefire in the Black Sea and a broader cessation of violence in Ukraine. The White House states the aim is to achieve a maritime ceasefire, allowing the free flow of shipping.
However, expectations between the US and Russia remain far apart. US envoy Steve Witkoff signaled hope for "real progress," while Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned of "difficult negotiations" ahead.
The US envoy also dismissed the UK Prime Minister's attempts to rally peacekeepers in Ukraine.
Bloomberg reports the Trump administration is aiming for a broad truce agreement between Russia and Ukraine by Easter.
Over the weekend, Ukraine was hit by a barrage of over 140 drone strikes, resulting in at least seven deaths. On the ground, Russian troops reportedly seized a village, while Ukrainian forces recaptured another.
