New Measures from the Capital Markets Board for Borsa Istanbul!
Between March 24 - April 25, 2025:
✅ Short selling transactions are prohibited ❌
✅ Share buybacks have been facilitated
(Share Buyback: The process of a company repurchasing its own shares from the stock market)
✅ The equity ratio in margin transactions has been relaxed
(Margin trading refers to investors borrowing from brokerage firms to purchase stocks. Relaxing the equity ratio allows investors to use more credit with less capital input)
Why was the equity ratio relaxed?
To provide liquidity to the market and facilitate trading for investors.
