U.S. authorities are returning $7 million to victims of a crypto scam that tricked people into investing through fake platforms. Scammers contacted victims, gained their trust, and directed them to fraudulent websites that looked like real crypto investment platforms.
Once victims deposited funds, the scammers moved the money through multiple bank accounts and even made the websites display fake profits to keep them invested. When victims tried to withdraw, the scammers demanded extra payments, pretending they were taxes.
Authorities managed to track and seize some of the stolen funds and have now arranged for the money to be returned. If you’ve been affected, you may be able to claim your funds back. Stay cautious when investing online!
