The Korean police raided Bithumb, a cryptocurrency trading company, over allegations of misusing funds!
The public prosecutor's office in South Korea raided the headquarters of "Bithumb" - specializing in cryptocurrency trading - located in the capital, Seoul.
The raid was part of an investigation into allegations of misusing company funds to purchase an apartment for its former CEO, "Kim Dae-sik."
It is suspected that 3 billion won (2.2 million dollars) was paid to "Kim," with part of it used as a down payment for the apartment.
Although the amount was later repaid, authorities continue their investigation.
It is worth noting that the "Bithumb" platform is facing repeated legal scrutiny, having previously undergone raids related to market manipulation and the embezzlement of 49 million dollars, which led to convictions and imprisonment of former officials.
Therefore, it is best to avoid dealing and trading on this platform, especially since there are many reliable options available.
