The AI agent aixbt, developed by Virtuals (aixbt), was hacked, compromising the dashboard and resulting in a loss of approximately $100,000 in ETH. This incident has raised concerns about the security of AI agents in the cryptocurrency space.

According to the aixbt account administrator 0rxbt, the hacker did not breach the core system but was still able to control some operations of the bot through the dashboard. This led to aixbt being tricked into executing trades, transferring 55 ETH to the hacker's wallet, merely through two malicious social media messages.

There is speculation that the hacker may have utilized Command Injection techniques to inject erroneous commands or data into the system to execute illegal operations. If true, this would represent a serious vulnerability that could be exploited again if not thoroughly fixed.

After the attack, 0rxbt took urgent countermeasures, including suspending the dashboard, switching servers, and changing security keys to prevent further attacks. aixbt also promised to enhance security measures once the system migration is completed.

aixbt is a well-known cryptocurrency trading AI bot, famous alongside Truth Terminal for its unique personality and market trend tracking capabilities. However, this hacking incident has negatively impacted its platform's reputation.

The price of the AIXBT token dropped over 22% following this incident, falling nearly 10% on the same day to $0.096, with its market capitalization shrinking to $82 million.
