Happy Ramadan!
During these thirty days of Ramadan, believers refrain from eating and drinking during the day. It may seem like they are starving, but in reality, it is a self-dialogue of the soul. Only when hungry do we realize how precious the tap water we usually turn on so easily is. The happiness brought by an evening date and warm water feels more solid than a lavish meal. Looking at the homeless people on the street, I suddenly understand: hunger is not a punishment; it is an experiential lesson in learning to empathize with others. The whole community seems to have pressed the pause button, everyone slows down together, gathering in the evening to break the fast. That atmosphere of collective gratitude is gentler than the moonlight.
